Tim Tate opens in LA today
Tim Tate: A Look Into a Video Mind opens at Billy Shire Fine Arts with an opening reception on Saturday, October 11th, from 7-10 pm.
This will be Tate's solo debut in Los Angeles. You can see some of the videos online here.
Tim is unique. He is both a talented artist and a person with a heart. One of my favorite DC artists and a dear friend. Happy to see him on the journey to the blue-chips! Proud of you TIM.
the video on the first link is the video in tim's piece ""My Love Life Thus Far"". but tim says it's "original video". hmmm - shouldn't he give credit to whomever shot the actual 'original' video. interesting.
It should prob. say "appropriated video" which has sort of become the defacto byline when artists use someone else's imagery to reinterpret it into their own work - or rappers into their music - although in this one case it is so obvious that the gallery probably thought it was self evident...

ReplyDeleteI would imagine whomever took the time, expense, and creativity to shoot the original video wouldn't mind a chunk of the $7,000 price tag.
