Artist Derek Thomas Hambly has just been appointed a professorship at the University of the District of Columbia (UDC) where he will teach ceramics and develop its arts program. The UMW Galleries will host
the tenth edition of their juried painting competition. It is open to artists 18
years of age and older living in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland,
New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia. Entries will
be judged by a guest juror. Cash prizes and a purchase award are also
available. The exhibition will be on view January 15- February 28, 2016.
