Mayor Mark Farrell said Friday he was “embarrassed” by a Board of Appeals vote to block the removal of a statue in the Civic Center depicting Native Americans in a demeaning manner and called for “a resolution to remove this statue from the Pioneer Monument immediately.”Nothing new here... every civilization has always cleansed itself of earlier artwork that later sensibilities found offensive; you can't erase the history, so destroy the art.
