ReplyDeleteWas contacted by (?) Sarah Engler. She actually paid $3000 including express shipment, VAT, insurance cost extimate. using a credit card owned by a Carl _____ with billing address in South Dakota.n Probably stolen credit card.
She provided me a freight forwarding company TRANSAM International who quoted me shipping cost.
I was supposed to pay the freight forwarder approx $2000 in shipping costs upfront to pickup goods Sarah ordered. Looks sounds legit so far.
I backed out at this point because
1. credit card name was not Sarah Engler
2. If charge is disputed, I would be out $2000 and goods.
I refunded Sarah $3000 paid to me

It’s always best to go with our gut instinct.
I understand from others that with this type of scam, they will over pay you by “accident” then have you send them money back or personally pay for a freight cost ir something . You will see the money in your bank account and then they can reverse the payment and your out what ever the amount you so kind heartedly paid them.

Received today 6 Feb 2022 from same Gmail as previous post. I responded unaware of the scam at first just stating orders are only accepted through my store website, no response. Glad I searched Google as it's not the usual messages I get.

"Sarah Engler" is still at it in March of 2022. Got the exact same email earlier as a couple comments up and the email used is kolbeinninc2@gmail.com. Requesting us to a. Create a wholesale order with zero pricing info or setting up a wholesale account tipped us off first and b. Asking us to email a major, real, shipping company at an @aol.com email was like, um, no they have @fabcessories.com as their emails.

Another business that received this scam email found out through the credit card company that the scammers' payoff is the $$ paid to the [fake] shipping company---that our business cannot get refunded.
