Australian John: Art Scammer
Remember this art scam?
Now a "John" from Australia is doing the same scam... be careful if you get an email trying to buy artwork.

Last week I received an intriguing E-mail in Spanish (I'm a Latino artist bilingual in Spanish/English). A person with a female Latino name claimed to have seen my art work on my web site and loved it, doors and windows in particular (which I feature in several of my paintings). The Spanish was perfectly grammatical with correct spelling, etc., so it was only when I read it more carefully and saw she wanted to know the prices of paintings #21, #15, etc. that I caught on--none of the paintings on my website are numbered! I sent an E-mail back saying I doubted she could have ever looked at my website for so much as one second, or she would have noticed that none of the paintings were numbered, and this gave away the fact that the E-mail was a scam. Unfortunately, I deleted the E-mail and cannot remember the name or E-mail this scammer used. You might want to alert Latino artists to look out for a Spanish version of the art scam.
