Art on Trial

Souheil Chemaly turns us all onto Art on Trial.

Developed in part to increase public awareness of such restrictions, Art on Trial is a virtual exhibit of artworks that were once at the center of actual courtroom battles.

Check it out here.

I found this site very interesting. All too often, as we've seen recently with some "boobs" in Norfolk, it only takes one person who's personal view is disturbed, to trample on the rights of many. I found the case of Boman v. Bluestem Unified School District No. 205 particularly disturbing. The case of Aubin v. City of Chicago is interesting because, to this day, there are hundreds of illegal uses of the American flag (bikinis being one of them), none of which are being prosecuted. Fantastic post, Lenny!
