Good grief.
Is Jessica Dawson and the Washington Post being hired to draft art contest rules these days?
There's a Rule 8 embedded in the fine print:
'All essays become the property of the contest and will not be returned. All rights assigned.'
Plus, they want a $50 fee for the right to claim each essay!

I just submitted my essay on how me winning this house will make the world a better place.
To Whom It May Concern:
If I am awarded this house, then I will make the world a better place by hiring the Saudi Binladin Group, a global construction and equity management conglomerate, to construct a Gitmo-style torture chamber in its basement where Dick Cheney will be waterboarded 89 times a day by Keith Olbermann until Cheney finally admits that he shot that Texas lawyer friend of his on purpose.
Respectfully,
James W. Bailey
